BBM has vanished on my 9900
I updated my phone to the new version of blackberry messenger but it has completely vanished! I've read other threads but everything they say is like a different language! How do I restore it?

It did the same for me when I did the update and I had to reinstall BBM to the phone from app world. Pain in the *** but luckily I only have family as bbm contacts so it made it fairly painless. Now, someone with lot of bbm contacts it can be a nightmare. I hope you are not in that situation.

Same here with the problem. Had to reinstall BBM; however, it is giving me issues--It won't activate. BBM wanted to associate my BB ID with BBM. So I did it and it spinned, then I get an error message reading, "Cannot set up BBM. A temporary BBM server error has occurred", with an option to retry. My upgrade was BBM v7.0.0.126. I have deleted and reinstalled, and with no luck. So no more BBM for me.
I'll never go back to Windows Mobile, would love to go back to Palm OS (because it always worked), never got a chance to love or hate Web OS; all I want is a device that works when I need it, a battery that last for 24 hours, and doesn't cost as much as a laptop. - 12-16-2012, 08:53 AM #5
I am having the same problem, updated to BBM 7.0.0.126 and it no longer shows on screen / menu but still appears as an installed app in app world!! most frustrating as I don't know what to do next .
It seems to be more common than I thought. my phone firmware is 7.1 2061 - 12-16-2012, 08:59 AM #6

Had the same issue. Go to Options/Device/Application Management
Select Blackberry Messenger; delete app.
Re-install from App World with latest version.
Should be back visible in your home menu again after that. - 12-16-2012, 02:17 PM #10
go on your browser on your bb type in rroyy.com and download it from there youll get it with no problems

Most frustrating, I've tried all of your suggestions, and then some. I even contacted RIM with no response. [Insert large amounts of expletives here]. This is the third time this device has fail to operate as I need it. At least it isn't as bad as my Tour. When does BB10 comes in? Can't wait.

I had the same problem. I went to App World via my computer and it looked like there was a queue of things that were suppose to install/unintall/update. I cleared that out and reinstalled via my computer. I did a battery pull and it returned... not that it matters because I have zero BBM contacts
. Forever alone. (Recently got a 2nd phone for work and went with the 9930).
