Hi everyone,
I'm new to the 9930 - just got it for work - but have had BB's before. I have an irritating problem and I promise I have searched far and wide to find a solution. When I get a call, the screen stays dark with just a shadow of the icon or caller ID name. No matter what I do or what I push, the display will not light up. For the life of me, I can't figure this out. I read in the forum that you just push "a button" on other versions of BB's but no buttons work on the 9930. Seems like a simple problem, but I cannot figure it out. Can anyone help?

Does it light up when in home screen?
See if your keypad and trackpad lights up too.
Check for setting
Home..options..Display...Screen Display...
Play with..
Automatic timeout.
Automatically dim backlights..
.
If possible wipe and install/ update OS..
If all this fails...
There might be hardware problem..

Thanks, nothing worked. I'm doing a wipe - no problem as I didn't have a lot of stuff on my new phone anyway. Will let you know.
