Isn't the 9930 a CDMA phone while the 9800 is a GSM phone? If so you might only get edge with the 9930 but someone else probably knows better then me.

Yes but just like the tour was both when used on a gsm network it will not get 3g. If you try to use the tour on say att or tmobile in the states it will not take advantage of 3g because the frequency doesn't match.

Sounds like you don't have the proper Service Books loaded on the device.

Folks, the *228 programming number will not work for someone who is not using the device on Verizon which the OP is not based on the original post saying "vodafone".

To the OP, it sounds like you do not have the proper Service Books loaded on the device.

Yeah, Tell me about it. Needs their grammar checked to make sure they spell words right so other folks on here don't get a headache trying to understand what their saying here.

Anyways, hope the OP gets their unit fixed or swap it out for something that works right and gets on their merry way and enjoying the phone.

Folks, the original poster is in India. Most likely not a native English speaker. The post is difficult to understand, but difficult to read, but try to consider the location.

Maybe the OP should look at this thread.
