I'm really having enough of the 9900 but because of it's weak battery so I am thinking of switching to 9790 as it seems the battery will last abit longer than the 9900. What do you guys think? Is it worth the switch since both of the devices are pretty much the same except the larger screen display?

i owned both and i found the batt lasted a little longer on the 9790. but nothing compared to the 9780 unfortunately which had the greatest bb batt life. and i think once u combine the battery saving mode of os 7.1, you may actually get even more out of it. i say go for it is you dont care about the keyboard and screen size doesn't matter to you.

The older devices are gonna have better battery life.

When I first got the 9900 the device analyzer reported 5-6% dph. After a day or so it's down to 2.41% dph now.

i would use the new os 7.1.342 batt life is vastly improved and with batt saving mode on its discharging at 2 per cent per hour absolutely fantastic

Also running on 7.1.0.342 with the figures I posted above. Don't use a 7.1 os lower than 7.1.0.26X

I've upgraded to the new 340 for the 9930 and so far, the battery seems to be the best yet. I've been using it regularly and it really seems to be improving. Too early to know for sure.

I'm pretty much fed up w/ my bb 9900's battery. I downloaded the most recent update and it is still terrible. If I have it on 4G and use it sparingly (occasional email checking and texting during classes). It drains the battery between 7am-12pm! It is so ridiculous! I used to have a 9700 and that had amazing battery life. I ordered another OEM battery in hopes that I just have a defective battery.

My 9900 on T-mo recently went for at least 20 days. Incredible battery life, when the radio is off.

If you'd completely wipe the OS with BBSAK or JL Commander, and restore ONLY the OS to start with - you'd find battery life to be quite good actually. Once you've done that, start reloading your apps until you find the culprit.

yeah honestly if your battery drains that quickly than either ur batt is bad or some app thats running in the background is eating it. or maybe you're keeping ur display lit up by accident. i've seen that before lol.

I'm getting good life on 267. I haven't had the time to try 342 but i don't see much reason to as I'm really enjoying what I have right now.

I just don't get it. I'm a heavy user, about 10 emails an hour and 2 hours on internet per day. My phone comes off charge at 5am, and when it goes back on at 11pm, its got about 10% left.

If you're on 3G and not using Wi-Fi it will drain your battery so much faster. When you're not using it you might want to switch to 2G only. When I only send e-mails, BBM's text's and calls I use 2G. Lot better battery.
