I find that there is almost no difference between Backlight 10 and Backlight 90. I really like a very dim backlight at night, sometimes I check my BB in bed and don't want to wake my eyes too much. But heck I keep it on 10 all the time now because it is still plenty bright for use any time. But what I really want is a setting that is much, much dimmer than the lowest current setting (Backlight 10). Right now there is almost no variability between the brightest and dimmest setting, really a waste of effort on RIM's part. Any 3rd party solutions to this?

haha put the backlight on 100% and then save and exit the options. you will see an immediate difference. i keep the backlight on 0 on my 9870 and its still too bright for dark environments -- lemme know if you find anything because the screens are GLARING bright on bbs lol. (not that its necessarily a problem...perhaps an app developer could come up with a low contrast night setting?)

You need to try different type to check which one suitable for your eyes

That make it full brightness, up the user setting, so that gives you the opposite effect. The OP said it was too bright.

Would probably help with the battery life too, I agree that it is way too bright even at 10%

Ridiculous I can't even use my phone in bed cos its way to bright and started giving me headaches just another reason why I might be saying good by RIM
