Just downgraded back to the 7.0.590, all working again, upgraded back to 7.1.205, and problem back, so looks like its back to 7.0.590 for now, till the next release and try again.

Am on 205 and not faced sms problem at all. Not sure why is it playing up on your side

Good find! I confirmed and I have also tried a few times by sending a txt message that has more than 160 characters and it will not send.. and I'm using 7.1.0.205.

I just realized I can't send any txt messages, even the one with less than 160 characters.. Maybe something is wrong on my side of provider..

FYI:

I just found out this is a big glitch for SMS messages in .205.. If you send a txt msg longer than 160 characters, the first 160 character will get send but the remaining characters after that will not get send, and also you will see the whole txt message body as not being send... What's worst is that you can't send any more txt messages after that regardless if the txt msg has 160 characters or less.. It will just keep trying but will not go thru. You just have to reset your phone or do a battery pull and you can send your txt again and everything is back to normal.. Just pain in the !

Well then I guess people will have to watch the character count and press enter to type more than one long message.

My gf has tons of problems on 7.1.205 with sms and quite often loosing service and going into sos mode in area where she always has 4-5 bars on 7.0 os

I can confirm that I don't have this problem on OS 7.1.0.267 and I can send long text messages. I just sent this message with exactly maximum number of characters allowed on SMS to my brother: "This is a long text message for testing the OS please let me know if you get this message in full because there was a problem with Blackberry new system running" and my brother got the full text.

So, yes the SMS works with no issues on .267.
