I've had my 9900 for 3 months and am still running stock os 9900/7.0.0.296. I compared the browser with an iPhone 4S and galaxy s2 and came accross something interesting. Scrolling through search results on google seemed much more fluent and smooth on the other 2 devices than on the 9900. On the bold, I would often click on pages I didn't want to open (using the touch screen) and then having to hit the return button. Anyone else experience this and does .590 help with the smoothness of touch screen in the browser. Your input will be apreciated
I updated to .374 right out of the box (Verizon) and browsing has been great. Now I'm on the 7.1 release for Sprint (just delete the .xml file) and it's still gravy.

+1... I have the same results. Happy either way... but 7.1 has hotspot. +1 for me.
Every os 7 and os 7.1 browser misaligns the touch sensor and display when you hit T or the address bar doesn't autohide after switching tabs. I notice it all the time on bot my 9810 and 9900... You hit T or scroll fast to the top of a page or change tabs, then tap something, and it selects something ~1cm higher. Ie if I try to click the google search box it will click 'images' or 'places' etc.
.590 has same problem of selecting some other link using touchscreen.
I have to zoom and then select links. iPhone don't have this problem.
One more thing when entering text, in certain kind of text fields text entry is very slow.
The iphone screen is also bigger. You really can't compare the two. apples and oranges.
It has nothing to do with the screen size. On the blackberry when the address bar hides, occasionally it doesn't automatically realign the website with the touchscreen (making your next tap end up ~1cm ,height of address bar, above where you intended.
I completely agree that that is bothersome. Hopefully with a new CEO we'll see further improvements to blackberry. Because the same way people point out faults on the blackberry, I can do the same for the iphone 4. I have one
