Someone else had said they were able to purchase a case for a different device and it fit the 9930 but I cant remember which device (bb or android) or where I saw it. Anyone knoe off the top of thir head?

No, no other case will fit the 99xx series. There is a case/hoster combo that fits together though.

I'm pretty sure it's the Otter Box commuter series case and the Bold 9700 leather holster.

I can't confirm that it is this 9700 holster though.

It's the Bold 9000 leather holster that works with the Commuter case.
I use this combo all the time, works like a charm.

I was hoping to get the card case from case mate but they arent making it for the 99xx or just havent yet and Ive been waiting since September. Was hoping I could get it for another phone and have it fit.

Yeah that's not going to happen unfortunately. Cases like the card case are made for each specific model, so you won't be able to pick up a case for a Bold 9000 and have it work on the 9930. You'll just have to wait for them to create that case. Sorry...
