I know this kind of advice has probley been said 100 times already BUT i received my 9900 on Wednesday, and since then the battery has been RUBBISH ill be lucky to get 6 hours plus out of it, 1 hour after unplugging it from full charge today i had already lost 10% and hadent even used it...

Ive turned backlight to 10%, location services off, WIFI and bluetooth off, set to 2G only

    Im on O2 UK running 7.0 Bundle 2406 (v7.0.0.585, platform 5.0.0.734)

Is that the best software for the phone ? or is there a better one that can help my battery issues more ?

101 times already Any of the 7.1.0.x builds will see a dramatic improvement. Check O/S threads.

You deff need to upgrade to the 7.1's ASAP !!! World of difference in battery life. I have no complaints about the battery anymore so as soon as you can, give your berry an update !

Ok i had 7.1 and that was just as bad i thought.... i got off the phone to my service provider and there sending me a new battery for free as i ended up losing 25% without no use, ill update to 7.1 now and see what happens, i installed a 7.1 that was not for my service provider, could that have been why i didn't see a improvement ?

Makes no difference at all. It will work and will not affect battery life, regardless of which carrier's OS you use. You have not mentioned anything about which apps you're running either ie; social feeds, Twitter, Facebook, MSN, Yahoo?

First upgrade to a newer version of 7.1 im on Sprints 921 and it is amazing my battery will last easily almost a full day with moderate use. If I use it heavily like I do on most days im still seeing almost 14 hours+

Only apps i have are Facebook & CrunchSMS, i uninstalled Social Feeds, i only really use BBM that is it, my service provider has agreed to send me a new battery free of charge and if that dont work they said there give me a new phone,

Ive always upgraded to a new software and according to the phone my drain rate is 8.37% a hour

If you just installed a new O/S, it takes a few days for the O/S to "settle", to calibrate the battery status. So should also give it a few days of usage and charges. Also make sure to do a few battery pulls over the course of those few days.
