Adding Phone to corporate BES
Hi all,
I had the dreaded dropped my Torch in the drink moment and I don't think its going to survive (especially after I stupidly powered it up after).
So my IT dept is telling me its $600 for a new phone. Bell is our carrier, can I just buy a 2nd hand Bell or unlocked Bold and add it to my corporate BES with out issues? My IT guy is telling me that if the phone isn't properly "provisioned for data" it would be a huge headache for him to add it.

Your IT is just trying to cover his but, If you are looking to buy a second hand 9900 stick with a Bell Branded one, or a North American one at least.
The phone will be no issues adding it to the BES as long as the IMEI and PIN are clean.
Save the $300 and get a second hand one on kijiji for $300BIG UP BIG UP, ITS A STICK UP STICK UP
I may be blunt, but it was the only way you would understand! @Fubaz

It would depend on where you work and if the phones they issue have pre-installed security software on them. I recommend talking to your IT department about whether you can use a BB that was purchased from outside the company on their BES.
