What's happened when you just add the Gmail on it through the add account settings?

it says invalid email address or password verify your email address and password. if the error persist, contact gmail.com...obviously both are correct

Do you need to create an application-specific password? https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en

If same roadblock on 9900, its all about two quick fixes, and gmail, calendar and contacts sync and flow...check around 9900 9930 forum for more. My shorthand version is 1. Adjust your gmail settings on your pc to allow less secure applications. Do a google search on that, and it brings you right to the specific settings on your gmail. Mark it yes to allow less secure applications. And then also do 2. On your 9930 browser, go directly to accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha and enter uour gmail id and password. Those two.steps made it all work for me. Youll be good to go. Enjoy.

I had this issue also, there is a link on the blackberry website to fix this, nothing was working, turning on support un-secure apps, turning on 2-step verification. I created a post on here called How to fix Gmail Issue with the link to the blackberry help website and instructions, if anyone else is experiencing issues and the other things mentioned here don't work.

You're welcome, and thanks for finding the link and posting it here, Gmail is a tricky little thing, but once its running its great, i haven't had any issues with it and it's been a month of full usage. If you notice in the pre-installed Gtalk there's a notification that says it's service has stopped working for many years but you're able to send and receive messages from others which is great the only one of the messengers that doesn't work is windows live messenger but that doesn't work on any device (blackberry or non-blackberry)
