I just ordered a white housing for mt 9900, Any tips,tricks or advice from anyone else who have done the conversion before?

Is there a good place online to get the entire kit (all the covers, keyboard, tools, etc.)? In my quick searches, as with most things they vary from $20 to around $100. If others have done it, where did you get the pieces?

OP, unless you are rich, I would advice against changing the housing because it will void the warranty. On top of that RIM is having so many issues with this phone compared to models like 9700, there is a high probability something will go wrong.

Only problem is going to be changing the lcd cover...

I've experimented before and this seems to be the main problem. Having a black phone makes the LCD (where it says blackberry on top) black as well and switching it to white still leaves the LCD black and unmatching.

However, if you buy a white LCD, you probably can't connect it to the receptor from the motherboard because it will require a certain LCD (001 etc) that only comes in black.

btw, im getting another 9900 in soon, and i want to do this to it was well to give to my gf

I was considering changing the bezel on mine to black, its crazy to know the bezel pretty much hold everything together

Just replace it who cares if it voids the warranty.

My advice: don't do it. Sell or trade your bold for a white one, if that's what you want.
