The backlighting on the 9900 keypad doesn't seem to be as bright as other BBs that I've owned. Is there a way to increase the backlight? Looked through settings but didn't find anything yet.

Have you tried turning off the auto screen brightness? In dark rooms my screen goes real dim, not sure if the keyboard does, too.

Yeah that's about the first thing I do when I get a new phone, I like a bright screen. One of the great things about the Torch 9800 and Bold 9780 was the very brightly illuminated keypad.
