    My Torch 9850 had the same issue. Usually a battery pull would fix it. When it didn't I would keep it plugged in and would notice that eventually the lightning bolt would come back on. For other reasons, I needed to do a clean wipe of my phone a couple times in a row, ultimately not re-installing all my apps. I found that the charging issue was resolved after omitting a certain APP. Once I updated my OS it didn't happen anymore either.

    If, as you say, the problem occurred after you reloaded the OS, then for sure that's the cause.
    Perhaps you had a duff load.

    Load up 569 and see how you go.

    I updated to os .569 and I still have the issue, It only charges if I turn off the device otherwise if it is left on thenthe black plug appears

    Thanx for every1 that helped I tried an original bb charger from my torch 9800 and I no longer have the problem! It charges faster too
