    Unfortunally, the same error mate... "Reconnecting to JVM" and them black screen with RED X Battery.. and the message "Application Loader was unable to connect with your device. Please re-connect your device, enter the password, if required, and click Retry." =/

    BBSAK won't connect to wipe... nor JL_CMD... tryied both, every single possible combination (battery in, battery out...)

    ryt do this take the simcard out and battery blow everyware around it because there might be excess dust then put the battery back in connect it to blackberry desktop when you get the option update repair then click 7.1 Bundle 1997 (v.7.1.0.694) (Recommended) and let me know what you get but whilst doing this close eveywindows apart from bbdesktop and this forum n let me know how you get on

    Since I'm from Brazil, it's kind of hard to do that... I'll be in US only in June (2013), so there's no way I can wait till than... I'll see if I can get something from BlackBerry Brazil, but can't imagine any help coming from them... Unfortunally I won't buy another blackberry, since I'm not in the mode of having this issues every 3 months... It's the end of an era! =/

    I'd be using Loader.exe with the battery out, not Desktop, and a rear USB is a must. The USB cable could also be the issue, but most likely, as Phill said from the get-go, it's unfortunately a brick.

    Only way RIM will repair it, would be to have it active on the original owner's account, and then only if it's less than a year old.
