So all the previous times I took my Bold somewhere it was a Sprint 9930 and I had no problem getting international data. Now I have a T-Mobile 9900 and it will only connect to Rogers voice. Is that what's supposed to happen?

your headline makes it sound like none of us have data in Canada

I'm with Rogers Canada and I have full BIS and the dots indicating data on the top right of the screen, (we dont pay extra for BIS) as for International travelling maybe someone else can field that

Ha, I totally missed that! I meant my 9900. I don't think I can edit?

I can think of two possibilities: the APN might not be set correctly for Rogers; or the device might not have the correct bands for Rogers data. I think the AT&T model is better aligned with Rogers bands, but I might be wrong.

Huh. The APN is set to blackberry.net, and I'm in Victoria. So was this particular 9900 model not sold here?

No, the T-Mobile variant of the Bold 9900 was not sold here (unless maybe WIND had it -- certainly the Big 3 did not).

It looks like the T-Mobile version has the following bands:
    GSM (2G) 850/900/1800/1900
    UMTS (3G): Band I (2100); Band IV (1700/2100); Band VIII (900)
    Source: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-2389

Rogers has the same 2G bands (850/1900) but does not have the same 3G bands (850/1900)

So at best, you'll get 2G data.

You might try the APN settings here: Rogers APN Settings - Configuration for Android, Blackberry and iPhone

I have an old Rogers Pearl Flip in my basement. I'll go check what the setting are and let you know.

Thanks! Good to know I made the right choice dual devicing (even though I'm typing this on my Classic and having to correct the autocorrect a whole lot).

I just checked my old Rogers phone but it has no APN settings, so it's no help. I'd try the ones linked above.
