    Hey Guys,

First and foremost I am addicted. I have owned every model Blackberry at least once since 2005.

But I have never had a problem like this.

I just bought the phone off the internet. phone is in mint 9/10 condition.

But my unlock button at the top either A- doesnt work when I press it or B- works when I press it, but when I put it on the table with a little bit of force it unlocks...

what could it be? faulty lock button? or just way to sensitive.

    Thanks

My cousin had the same problem. His enter button was way too sensitive only hovering his finger on the button would make it work.
He did returned the phone for a repair and got it fixed eventually, now his enter button is mint/flush like all the other buttons.
It's a faulty button, contact the person or the store you bought from and get it repaired/exchanged.

Exchange it. It is a hardware malfunction.

I hope you had insurance I had a similar experience with a different device I purchased second hand and it was a total loss for me. Recently I have been using the square trade warranty when I purchase used items and this gives me piece of mind.

    No insurance. No returns.

    oh well...

bought 20+phones over the last 2 years, this is the first one I have had any problems with.

I guess I could consider myself lucky up to this point.

Any guesses on how to deal with it?

disabling the top button and making the lock button the convinience key?

    Hm..
I remember when my media keys were not working, (They had 2 clicks like a an autofocus camera thingy) i had to press it in really hard until it stuck.

But I would recommend opening the phone (if you feel you can) and re-"setting" the standby key.

I think thats your best bet.

You might still be able to get square trade insurance for it.
