Wow.. People go through so much trouble to get this phone to work. I am also very disappointed at RIM for not working with 3rd parties like Seidio to get a better battery in there.
While the new features in the 9930 appeal to me, the battery kills the deal.
I can't take not having any confidence in the battery all the time, and not being sure that it'll last 24 hours with light use (last charge lasted 27 hours, but i really just had no more than 30min of talk time, and no data hungry apps, no bluetooth, no wifi). I don't know what RIM/Verizon were smoking with "Standby: Up to 307 hrs"
Having to remember to carry an extra battery doesn't appeal to me either.
I am likely going back to my beat up 9650 with a Seidio Extended battery.Last edited by NetComrade; 06-07-2012 at 12:12 PM.

Hey,
I think battery draining has some sting to do with 3G. I watched my battery draining for a long period of time. Of course apps like Whatsapp as well because they function is based on the network (3G). But a lot of other BB9900 users don´t experience the battery draining even with 3G turned on.
I think there is something with the 3G mode on some 9900s...Maybe the carrier could do something about it. I have no idea. I just bought a second original battery just in case and now I´m not caring as much as before. But it´s still to my annoyance....
Just look at the phone´s battery usage today:
In the first hour I had 2G mode turned on and was listening to music ad texting... That´s why the draining is a little higher. After that I switched to 2G and battery draining is between 1-3% which is very good. Whatsapp still working good. So still in use.
After 6 1/2h I switched back to 3G and you can see that high battery draining is starting again. I slowly climbing up up -17%/h
!!!!! Thats way to high and def not normal.
So thats why my conclusion is it must have something to do with the 3G mode....

Hi there,
I purchased my two Momax 1400ah JM1 X PDA batteries direct on ebay and have been testing them for 14 days now and here my conclusions.
The batteries arrived within 8 working days from Hong Kong
They were very well packaged and complete with decoder, full instructions and warrantee
They are around 1.5mm thicker than original batteries, but fit snug inside the original battery cover.
Cloning the batteries was quick and easy, less than 5 secs.
The batteries were tested on 7.1.0.190, 7.1.0.205, 7.1.0.267 and 7.1.0.437 with no problems, they did not work on 7.1.0.402 or 7.1.0.428, These are the only OS7 softwares I tested?
The batteries took 3 full charges to reach peak, 3-5 days after a new software install.
The batteries have been hard booted 10 times and softbooted 15 times and have never had to be recloned!
They are now giving around extra 3 - 4 hours of heavy use a day, and around 35% extra standby time, now getting the same life as my previous 9780
