9900 battery: how I found peace of mind

I simply bought on ebay that new Gold 2430 mAh battery: it's a little havier than the orginal battery but it lays perfectly in the battery compartment. My 9900 now lasts two days on average use: a ton of sms, 30 emails per days, at least one hour and half or two of calls, some navigation and even a bit of whatsapp. Anyone uses it BB in a different way than each other so also battery drain may change. But this battery really changed my phone. I'm really happy with it.

If you check the Gold battery reviews,some of them are pretty nasty.

That's true, when I received the battery it was just inside a plastic bag with no protection. But it arrived safe and it's working really really well on my device. Since you're advised the battery might be shipped with no protection, you can ask the seller to wrap it inside some protective stuff...!

How does this decoder thing work? Any problems? Readable description included?

I'm just a bit worried, as companies like e.g. Mugen or Seidio have not succeeded in producing a compatible battery yet.....any thoughts?

looks like its a 1400mAh battery with a sticker over it. that's what the reviews say

The decoder is for "copying" the code from the original battery to the new one. It seems just copying it once is enuff.

Honestly, I dont know how many mAh it actually is. I just know battery life has almost doubled.

Aside from actually being satisfied with the JM1 myself, I just have this paranoia about using third party stuff, especially from eBay. Maybe I'm losing out? :/

when you restart the phone do you have to clone the code off the original battery everytime?

Actuallly Seido stated awhile back that they were not going to be making an Extended Battery for the 9900...they came up with something way different that I have yet to use because I'm close to my charger and are not traveling at the moment or am at a place that consists of waiting a looooooooong time. (example: AAC event)

Could you point us to the reviews you mentioned?
On the web, I found ~4 positive (including the one here) and ~2 negative comments on this product. But not one on a sticker.....?

Interesting find. While I find it highly doubtful they can pack that many mAhs into the same size pack (why wouldn't we see these for sale all over the place) I am curious. The seller has great sales, 15900 positive reviews vs 186 bad reviews in one month. Like a 1% unsatisfied rate. Not bad considering he is selling all types of junk. In the positive reviews there are many happy new battery owners...

Would like to see someone who buys one of these put a multimeter up it so we can see what it looks like at full charge. Mystic84, any chance you can test it out to see what it reads? Pretty easy to do in the aisle at Home Depot or Radio Shack

Yes I saw these, except the one with the gold wrap. Maybe overlooked.
However, the vast majority of all reviews on ebay is positive.
I hope its not a fake, as I ordered one. Will report.
