I've noticed that among several 9900 7.1.0.267 official release, and even the leaked version, that the file named rim0x07001204.sfi in the UMTS folder differ in size ( sometimes several MB ).

I've read somewhere that this is the main kernel of the OS. So, do I have to care about that file when choosing a 7.1 release since my provider doesnt provide a official release.

Or, do you suggest that I try the leaked release ? Is it a more "generic" version ?

    Thanks for youre input

The sfi or radio file is the heart of any OS.

It differs in size mainly due to the number of languages the OS supports. For example a MultiLanguage OS has a smaller sfi file than an AllLanguage OS.
A leaked sfi also contains no carrier bloatware, so it's usually smaller than an official one.

If you don't need the additional languages, then go for the leaked .267 which is a MultiLanguage build where the sfi is only 67MB.
