64gb micro sd card for bold 9900?
hi i know 32gb is the max stated for the 9900 but i was wondering if any of you have successfully gotten a 64gb running on it with the updated software? i know old models which could previously only take 4 or 8gb could take a higher capacity gb card with upgraded os software and i know some mobile phone types can be made to accept 64gbs even though the max states 32gb so im wondering if the same applies for this one?

I agree with Wulf. My 32GB card takes a while to index after a reboot and it drives me crazy.
I don't see a 64GB card being anything but trouble. You wouldn't have control of your media card for hours....lolI'll Always Be Ramblin' in Rehab: Where the real Bold addicts are!

really? i currently have a 32gb class 4 now at max and mine only takes 43 seconds (timed it) to load everything up after a battery pull inc music and films? theres no need to be snippy :l i did look at other threads first but they were just vague "can i use it with a bb 9900" i was specifically asking whether anyone had managed it with 7.1 and all these new hybrids etc

I don't think anyone was being "snippy". There's no way to go beyond 32Gb.
Time for indexing would definitely be different depending on the content mix. Mine takes a couple minutes, but more importantly, when I look at the battery analyzer, file index service typically is in the top 3 for CPU consumption. I can only imagine the resources consumed, were I to fill up a 64Gb card.WAPers do it With A Passion

SD cards and Bold 9900 seems to be a bad idea anyway. I have one made by Patriot, a brand that I've always trusted. It's a Class 10 card, very fast which is nice. But half of the time my phone needs to be rebooted because it tells me there's no SD card in the phone. I don't know if that is due to the phone or the card though. Anybody else experiencing similar occurrences?

first, let's a least be honest about the phone. While a year old, and much better is right around the corner, the 99x0 is one heck of a communication tool.
Now, the good news is, it's not the SD card or the phone. It's an issue almost everyone has, and it's the OS. It has improved to about 30% of the time on my 9930/7.1.0.755, but no matter what OS I've tried, it's still a problem. Usually I just slide the SD almost to the battery, and then back in, when it boots up without it.WAPers do it With A Passion

Never had a problem, except on my 9930, using countless cards.

64gb micro sd card for bold 9900?
Guys, have any of you tried a 128gb micro sd card? I'm wondering if it's a good idea. Let me know what you think.
