So remember when the 3G curve came out and Verizon was proud on the point you could surf the web while being on a voice call. Why can yo do this on the bold? This device should at least be optimized to do all functions. Any thoughts?

What's the question?
You can surf the internet on WiFi and talk on the phone at the same time on the 9930.

CDMA does not all voice and data at the same time. It's a technology limitation.

You could never surf and talk over 3G. CDMA never has or will be able to do it.

Your Verizon 9930 cannot talk and surf at the same time while on Verizon's CDMA network..sorry...only two ways you can talk and surf:
1. Be connected to Wi-Fi while you talk on the phone
2. Use your 9930 overseas where the 2100Mhz UMTS band it supports is used.....which would let you talk and surf over a cellular network

Too bad that virtually no one has rolled out Rev B, and the NA carriers have mostly halted CDMA development for LTE (Verizon) or HSPA+LTE (CanTel).
