2gb memory card not being recognised in my 9900!!

hi all ive got a 2 gb memory cars but my phone will not recognise it and i don't know why. i have tried formatting it via the pc and also tried repairing it by the phone any suggestions as i really need this:/

Cards sometimes go bad. Try a different card.

well i went to a shop today to by a 16gb and my phone would not pick that up either :/

and i really need this

You said that you repaired it through the phone's repair option. If that's true then the phone is recognizing the card, in which case you should also try formatting it from the same screen within the phone so it's formatted correctly. If you wanna do it from your PC I believe it's FAT32. If that doesn't work then I'd assume you either have a faulty card or the phone has a faulty card reader.

Shifty, the OP said that he purchased another card and that didn't work either. So it seems more likely, as you stated, that the reader is faulty.

Red. Try pushing a very small slither of card (cut from a business card) into the card reader slot over the top of the SD card so it pushes the SD card down onto the reader contacts. This has worked for others in your situation. It's worth a shot, nothing to lose.

I had a similar peoblem with my 2 gb card, I pulled the battery, removed the card, and put it back in with some force, then it was magically recognized.

bad news guys i tried the business card thing didn't work tried for still didn't work

dose anyone know how much it is to be replaced in the uk?

You could repair it for relatively cheap, less than 70, but if you only need 2 gb, there is 6 gb of internal memory. Why not just use that and save the expense?
