Did a software update recently and ever since, I have 2 'To' fields whenever I try to compose a text message (either 'compose a new sms' or select someone from my address book to send a text message to).

Is there anyway to get rid of this so I only have one field?

It's annoying to have to scroll down twice before composing a message.

    Thanks

I don't like it. I want to have the option to include a cc or not and it is very annoying when I start typing and it goes into the second 'to' field. I contacted my service provider to get rid of it. And no, you didn't help.

Found the answer, but there is no fix apparently.

My bad, I should have done a better search in here but missed it. And I understand that you don't like the question, but I just don't like having to hit enter twice when I start typing the text. That's all.

I'm not sure what dinosaur OS you updated from where this wasn't present, but it's always been there on every version I've used.

Get used to it, because you can't get rid of it, and it's here to stay.

Yeah, I just learned about it. I really can't stand it. Especially after being used to quickly typing texts, it slows them down when i have to skip down past the second to field. I would have preferred to have a menu option to CC, which is what I had with my previous OS.

    Thanks.

yeah, perhaps I didn't explain it properly. It's a good thing to have, I just wish I could have hit the blackberry menu key to add extra CC rather than having it permanently there because it does delay my text speed by a second.

For example, when I pick a name out of my address book, I want to just start typing the text message (especially if it is important). With this mandatory extra field, I have to choose the contact, then use the trackpad to scroll down to the message field before I can start typing.

I guess I just have to get used to it.

I had a pretty recent OS too before I did the upgrade, I just downloaded the 2406 update. 7.0.something before that.

One thing I miss from OS5 is the option to post a picture from a site to a social network. The option use to be after you point on a pic you can post to fb/twtr. Now you are only allowed to post the link to the pic. I hate that

BTW, you said when you type your text the second 'to' field goes away?

Mine doesn't. Stays there. Ugh, I hate it!

Ballsy up and reinstall the os or fool around with otherupdate versions. Its all I got. I see where you would be annoyed with the matterr now that you say it doesn't go away

I always shy away from OS updates. Had issues with previous BB's. I'll just get used to this I guess. I just don't like it. We should have the option to add the second field.

You don't have to use the track pad when wanting to skip the second To text field box. Just Use your finger to touch the Text field box when you're ready to type.

I use Xsms, small program assignable to any key. Instant text window popup. Doesn't solve the multiple "to" windows but is very fast and runs well on my 9930.

Your very welcome dustanh, I couldn't live without it. I'm pretty sure it works on all BB's with a keyboard. Worked well on my old 8330 too.

I'll be surprised if it doesn't.

Obviously I've never used a 9930, but we've had 2 'To'fields on the 9900 in every OS7 and 7.1 version since at least .296 which was the OS mine shipped with.

I'm pretty sure it does. Open your SMS, menu, and compose new. Yes you will have only one field, but... enter a contact and a second contact field appears.

I'll be surprised if it doesn't.

I'd be very surprised too. I honestly can't remember if it did this with my 9930 on 7.0 though. It is not an issue and never will be for me. It's the way the OS is, I've adapted without even knowning.
