No, if you press $ and T t will goes to universal search

But if you press SPACE you will have ,bbm , sms, messages, option, picture, memo, files, music

you can do that or you can use a launcher type app. Like QL or what I use...Advance OS and LED by Sultan. Free and allows you to set up a launcher system with all your app names listed and no need to use icons. I don't use icons.
