Well i've been using the phone disconnected from my charger since 10:30 am. The time now is about 1:30 almost and my battery is down to 45% (my brightness is set at 50%).
So i dont see anything better about batter life, i'm pretty active with my phone but i'm sure this statistic varies from phone to phone.
I'm also pretty sure that the brightness plays a big role with batter life as well, so if you guys could list you brightness settings that would be awesome.

My backlight brightness is at 10. I haven't upgraded to 7.1 yet but it sounds like I've been getting better battery life than you in general.

yea let me know when you update to 7.1, but i do usually get better battery life with 10% brightness. I'm gonna wait for 20% battery life and see what Battery Saver does.
Then tomorrow i'll measure the drainage with 10% brightness all day.

I have my brightness set at 10% but i also have a plain black wallpaper as i read a few years ago that it helps prolong battery life as u dont engage any backlighting??? something along those lines i think. Could be wrong |

I think your right, i enjoy my wallpaper so i'm not willing to make that sacrifice lol
but at 50% brightness my battery lasted for 5 hours or so, obviously not great. The battery saver feature in OS 7.1 (which kicked in at 20% battery life) adjusts various things to give better battery life, the only thing i noticed is that it decreased my brightness to 10% automatically and the time for standby went down to 20 seconds (i originally had it set to 30 seconds).
Tomorrow i'm going to set the Battery Saver to start at 50% with my brightness set to 10% and see what difference that makes, i'll track this by using the Device Analyzer and see what the graph shows. I'll keep you guys posted.

I think the battery life is a bit better too... Might still be early to be sure but I installed 7.1 last night and charged it overnight. Tonight I got home from work with 40% left... I usually have 15-20% left by that time.
The battery saving was set to 20% so it didnt even help yet.
Anyone else had a good experience to back mine up?

Could be wrong | If you read a bit more about how LCD works, you will find that Black Wallpaper is a bad idea to save battery life.
On plasma or OLED display, it may.

Just following up on battery life for OS 7.1.
Today i adjusted my Brightness setting to 10% and told the Battery Saver to activate at 50% battery life.
I used my phone actively on and off throughout the day and can happily say that my battery life did increase by over an hour (from 5 hours yesterday to just over 6 hours today). I disconnected it from the charger at 10 am and now its about 4ish and i just got the battery on RED. So it did help me out quite a bit, i also updated an application in AppWorld and rebooted by phone, which i'm sure drained my battery more as well. Seems like the Battery Saver actually does something |

wtv you do, do not tether without a charger, I was getting 20+/hour drain rate when I was tethering it's definately a battery killer.

I usually have Whatsapp and Google Maps running in the background as well, with a couple other programs running (Slide lock, theweathernetwork and LED colour changer) plus the programs that run by default. I'm guessing it could be Whatsapp and/or Google Maps that are making my battery drain faster than others...

I do more msging but still, im gonna try and limit some background running applications. My discharge rate is 9-12% thats way worse than you!

Damn 9-12% ... that sounds like a faulty battery and/or device ... this is an insanely high discharge rate ! I have no apps on background refresh, all I use is facebook, twitter, beweather free, score mobile and none of them are on automatic refresh
