Nice Will see what this mode does once my phone drops below the threshold I've set (20%).

Interesting, I didn't even hear about the battery save mode. Is there any graphical differences you've noticed?
I'll have to go look up the 7.1 new features again. Excited!

Default OS 7.1 rocks !!

Updated to 7.1 last night.

Installation went without a hitch. Many thanks to everyone who developed the blackberry help section on installing new roms. I've never done anything like this before but the information was fantastic. The phone managed to restore my backup without a hitch.

Have been putting it thru its paces. Wifi hotspot is a godsend. The bridge browser was good but felt slow. Wifi hotspot + playbook browser = very good speed.

i'm not sure if they did a volume tweak but my phone is noticably louder both in calls and whilst playing music. Call quality has been unaffected and the GPS is working without a hitch. I use to have my volume on max for my earphones but now i have to turn it down a bit.

Battery life hasnt been affected at all. I didnt really have any battery issues previously but have gone through my normal morning routine and with bluetooth/wifi/playing music and browsing via hotspot i am still on 85%. My usage has probably been a bit biased today and i have probably been tinkering with it a lot more than usual. The phone has been off charge since 5:00 am and its currently approaching 12 noon in London.

Overall i am very impressed with this new version. Its made a great phone even better.
Roll on BB10!

Great news I can't wait to install this thing tonight. I'm glad it just wasn't me with the volume of music. I thought I was just going deaf!

Hotspot usually sucks the life out of batteries, so that's a good sign!
