Weak signal problem

hey!

i bought a new 9790 bold and inside my house and in some places the bb have weak signal
like 2-1 lines in the signal meter
and if i go downstairs it turns to sos.
its not that i live in the pentagon or something, and my sister use 9700 and her signal good in all of the house.

you have any ideas for me?

i bought the bb from US
im line in israel.

Is the 9700 on the same network? I had the 9300 and I noticed the bars were lesser with the 9790 but the signal strength meter showed no difference>>> I guess the bar count is not an exact science...(then again u getting the sos pretty much messes with that theory!!)

Anyways...do a couple of battery pulls on the phone...it may settle it down since its still new....see if that helps

Remove the battery and while u are at it sim-card as well for 45secs or so and put back the sim card and battery....sometimes that fixes the issue. If u still experience any issues after thant come back on the forums and i m sure some of the senior folks it will see it and figure out a solution for you

i tried to do that, but doesnt help.
i go downstairs and the mobile turn to sos mode or looking for network
after few seconds it found the network but with one line on the signal meter.

anything else?

Maybe the signal is just bad for you in the area you are using the phone. Does it occur often or does it just happen at that particular place ???

my sister using also blackberry 9700, with the same company and her signal are perfect.
thats why i cant understand what the problem.

Try changing your SIM card, it may be faulty.

i think first ill try to check my phone with my sisters sim card when she back home.

then if not ill try the update.
