So I would like to upgrade my 9790 to the new 7.1.0.523 from Telkomsel. I am in Canada and bought my phone factory unlocked and unbranded. If I install this OS will my phone lock back up? Will there be a screen branded from Telkomsel when I first boot the phone up?
Also, since I have never upgraded my OS is this the most recent guide to install OS: http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101...ting-system-os

There is no branded screen.

It is easy to upgrade and OS, you just have to follow the steps in the tutorial you show in your post. Once you install the OS (which is an .exe file) remember to delete the Vendor.xml file before opening the Desktop Manager and that's all!

So im trying to update my OS and I get the following message:

Do you have a BlackBerry data plan? If not, try switching off your PC internet connection and removing your SIM before hooking up your phone. If that doesn't work, a wipe with BBSAK or similar app first will do the trick.

No im not on a data plan at the moment. Is there a tutorial on how to use BBSAK?
