Finally Bell has got their fingers out their A** and released the official OS7.1 update for the 9790......

Not bad for the largest cell provider in Canada.....How I wish Rogers would expand their coverage.

Since Virgin Mobile is 'owned' by Bell, do you know if they are also releasing this for their 9790s? Thanks.

Also, is it an OTA upgrade or do you have to connect to DM for it to be found?

Pretty sure Virgin Mobile is not owned by Bell.....Richard Branson is alot bigger then Bell.

Anyway it was an OTA upgrade. Big difference is battery drain is loads better and NFC now works.

However the ability to talk over wifi is not there, possibly blocked by Bell....

Wifi Calling is not blocked by Bell, they just don't have a licence for it in Canada. Only Rogers do.

Virgin Mobile is to Bell like Fido is to Rogers.

In any event, I checked my VM 9790 last night and nothing, but just checked again and...voila! The OTA update is there, running it now. So it appears that Bell & VM are indeed in sync when it comes to BB issues/updates.
