can anyone give me any information about the os 7.1 for the bold 9790 i cant find it anywhere ?

What version are you currently running? I believe non-leaked versions can only come via your provider

i am currently running 0s 7.0 bundle 2254? i have been on the blackberry and RIM websites and the 9900 has an official os 7.1 download but nothing for the 9790 ? :S

Like I said, I think you'll have to wait for your provider to issue it if you want an official version

how risky is installing the leaked version ? i hear that it can sometimes go wrong ?

Have a read of the posts in the thread I linked to earlier and make your own mind up. I had 7.1.0.247 for a while without any real problems, just upgraded to 7.1.0.402 a few days ago, still no problems

actually there is an official 7.1 release for the bold 9790 ... that's the one im running right now and its awesome. i think its version 336 from telenor norway.

Exactly what I've been saying, you got it from your provider rather tha Blackberry, the OP will have to wait for his provider to make it available unless he uses a leaked version

Anyone can use an official OS from another carrier, nobody has to wait, or use a leaked version...

RIM supply the OS versions to carriers for testing.
Upon successful testing, carriers release them as their official versions.
A leaked OS is still from RIM, just not supported by a carrier.
RIM is the company, BlackBerry is the phone.
