Thanks for confirming. Happy to help.
Phill buddy, help me out please. Should I buy a Bold 9790 or a Torch 9860? Keypad is not an issue. I can use physical as well as touch. Looking for a phone which takes me two years into the future. Which of these is a better option?

Okay. That's something I'm scared of too. It'll be a first IF I do so.

Give OS7.1 a try... many have seen an improvement in battery life over OS7.0
You can't update to a leaked OS using a mac unless you use parallels/bootcamp/virtual windows (or something like that, I don't do macs). Borrow a friend's PC
I've started a thread over in the Leaked/Beta OS Forum for .402 for the 9790. Be sure to discuss your findings and fixes in there.

Sorry, but 7.1.0.433 hasn't even leaked yet.
Seems you have poor signal strength on 3G, or maybe your Berry is switching constantly between 2 or more Towers. Try running it on EDGE. There is not such a great difference in speed...

Battery life seems to suck.
Its been only a day since i updated it. The battery seems to be draining quickly.
I wish someone tells me which 7.1 is the best for the 9790. My battery doesnt survive the 5 hour window.. is it because i keep using BBM and FB - 04-24-2012, 06:01 AM #16
I've had it installed about 3 days and i thought the battery life was actually slightly better than the last 7.1 leak. I've done a number of battery pulls since the install. i find this usually settles things down for me.

OS 7.1.0.402 for Bold 9790
I've installed *.402 and battery life after 1 day has increased by a fair amount. I estimate 2-2.5 hours total of social feed, rss and email reading. 10min of calls, some maps searching with GPS on the entire day. Before I plugged in last night I was only at 45% ...too add i unplugged at 7am and plugged in at 10:30pm.

My history is not so good. I unplug my phone by 8am and I have to recharge it again by the afternoon (like 5 o 6pm) otherwise I get my phone shut down by 9 or 10 pm!
I have twitter and facebook without background refresh and have no application running background so it is just the OS running.
My firts day with this .402 version was really terrible, only lasts 5 hours the battery!
Hope everyday is getting better like you said... - 04-24-2012, 02:13 PM #21
Good afternoon everyone... I have had OS *402 installed for 2 days and my findings are as follows... 1st day battery consumption was at a very high rate 5.5-6.1%.
... 2nd day after 3-4 battery pulls the consumption has dropped to a normal 3.82%
... I am a moderate to heavy business user... Question for you... It would seem that battery pulls actually help, why is that???... Just curious... Thanks,

Well I'm not sure about the settling in, it's a 'because thing'. But of course the reason most problems can be fixed with a battery pull is because your phone is like your PC. I reboot my PC every 2-3 days, so why nto my phone!? Keeps it running smooth and clears old files out of the RAM

i have yet to pull the battery, really not sure its a necessity but its your device. BB doesn't operate like that and if it was a required deal i would not own one. it would be a pita doing that especially with an Otterbox ;-)

After doing some battery pulls, I have to say that my battery is now MUCH better than it used to be.
Today in 5 hours have consumed 30% of my battery so it will last between 13-15 hours, which is much more than the 8-10hours of the .336 OS.
Maybe it seems a silly thing but I would recomend to do it because in my case I could say that it really works!
