I have read other threads about this but my problem remains unresolved. I have no unread mail items and no missed calls, but the new mail notification icon does not go away. I have done several battery pulls, and looked through everything else but no go. Is there anything else that could be causing the icon to be 'stuck' and not disappear after all messages have been read?

Got my answer here. I changed my message folder to Search by > Advanced > Unread only and lo and behold there was one message that was sitting there that had an error. Once I deleted it, the notification icon disappeared. Love CrackBerry!

As I wrote in my original post, I had read other threads about this issue in the forums. However until I posted this one, I hadn't come across the one that would actually fix the issue, that's why I added my second comment.

Check your emails advanced settings on your computer if you are using outlook or windows mail. Make sure your boxes are checked. Also, check your email accounts online. Check for unopened emails.
