i bought an unbranded unlocked 9790 and hooked it up on at&t. i dont have an option for mms messaging, youtube and other apps wont work unless im on wifi

at&t recognizes the phone as a motorola. is it possible i somehow need to get service books sent to my phone? anyone else experience this? any solutions?

Do you have a Blackberry data plan (BIS)? Without this you won't be able to achieve much apart from talk and text.

i do have the bis plan, they had to force it because for some reason at&t thinks my phone is a motorola according to the imei #

You can send the service books from the BIS web page or your operator can do it if you phone them
