Installed myself this afternoon.
Getting 6% drain rate after 1 battery pull, so probably getting better in time...
Keep you updated, but for now going stable - 11-12-2012, 02:46 PM #7

Done already.
This is my 2nd 9790 and 3rd battery.
This 9790 is terrible, worst phone I've ever owned.
This will be my family's last RIMM device for good.
Reboots randomly
Battery will drop 20% instantly.

I've never, ever had any issues like that.
I don't expect the battery to last a super long time because, let's face it, these are mini computers. Laptops drain batteries too.

Something very strange, there are two different builds for this 7.1.0.746 :
the 2102 build : 9790jAllLang_PBr7.1.0_rel2102_PL9.16.0.159_A7.1.0. 746_I_Mobile_Plus.exe
the 2105 build : 9790AllLang_PBr7.1.0_rel2105_PL9.16.0.159_A7.1.0.7 46_Indosat.exe
both AllLang but they are not the same size .... - 11-26-2012, 04:55 AM #18
Have a look:
9790jAllLang_PBr7.1.0_rel2102_PL9.16.0.159_A7.1.0. 746_I_Mobile_Plus.exe
This 'j' means that this file has also the cods responsible for Asian input.
I have never given this much thought though, as never needed them. Perhaps the forum members using this feature can say few words more on this. - 12-05-2012, 03:13 PM #19
After a few weeks of using this version I just returned back to .714.
I loved the color LED settings and the good battery life - but .714 runs more stable for me and the camera has a better quality (also faster).Easy come, easy go...Thanked by:BullGuard8 (12-06-2012)

I have the same problem after 8 months of use and second battery. Tried all the firmwares, wiped the phone, uninstalled everything and seem to be a hardware problem. In fact, I think with the use the charging ic gets old and starts to act in a weird way or get damaged. Right now I'm trying to get the device to RIM, but is very difficult, because I'm a personal user. I bought the device via an internet vendor (Expansys).
Symptoms:
- Rebooting randomly, or when open the maps, google maps (GPS app), shooting pictures (flash) o browsing (3G, Wifi). Seems when the device need some juice.
- Charging sometime is ok, about 2-1/2 hours or 3h and other gets forever, or stuck at 95% or others numbers.
- When reboots, the battery drops from 80% to 20% or 10% and if reboots again get back to 80%
- Sometimes said low battery to use radio and the battery meter is at 60% or greater
- Sometimes when try to use the flash said low battery and the meter is over 50%
PD: Why RIM makes devices with a life less than a year? is this the new policy to force you to buy a new device? I love this device and I'm thinking seriously in buying a new 9790, but if it lasts less than a year, is it worth it?
