Just to let you know that in the future OS (OS 7.1+) disables using aftermarket batteries. This means paired/copied aftermarket battery won't work on your BlackBerry anymore.

I have one of these batteries and can confirm that they do not work with the 7.1 release but do with the 7.0. Release. Since I prefer 7.1 due to mobile hotspot feature I wasted my £14 on the gold battery. It just does not work. Hope this helps

Thanks for the response folks. I contacted e-cell and they are sending me a replacement. Hope I have better luck with it. I ll try and post some photos of the non fitting battery. I think its just a bit too thick. Its made with the 9900 in mind but the back cover in the 9790 is much more compact!

I did read about the 7.0 and after market. I did try the 7.1 for a while, but had to go back to the original 7.0 as it didn't play too well with the OEM battery (drained alot faster for me)...

im on 7.1.0.247 and my ecell works for me. I got it yesterday but the battery didn't last too long (same as my original jm1, less than a day :/). Gonna charge it up from flat today and see if there's any diff in performance.

I got one yesterday. Did not work with 7.1.0.4xx, but works with .247. I can get it to fit, I just have to shove it in and really push down on the sides when I slide the back cover on. Testing now to see if it really lasts longer.
