I've been given the opportunity to own the above phone, brand new, direct from RIM (family works out there). She's telling me though that as it's Canadian, it won't work over here on o2. Am I right in saying it might just be a firmware issue, as o2 themselves are offering this phone over here now, albeit a fair bit more expensive than I'm getting it for :lol:

The only reason it might not work would be SIM locking which blocks using a SIM from other networks. That is usually easy to resolve, but check with the unlockers because 9790 is fairly new and there is sometimes a delay before codes are available.

I have a Canadian made 9790 and it works perfectly over here... just ignore her, you'll be fine
