bbm bis. help

Hi. I bought bbm so £5 extra on my contract. Basically when I turn wifi on I get bis on and the bbm symbol. Wen I turn it off the symbol goes as well. This suggests I can only use bbm with wifi indoors. I need to use it on the go! Help!!!

No idea why you can only connect on wifi though. Have you tried registering the HRT?
Options > Device > Advanced System Settings > Host Routing Table > (Menu) Register Now

Yeah I have got grps and wifi a list of these one of wifi. That is sorted. I am with orange btw. Please help

When you see that list, press the Menu key to the left of the trackpad and select Register Now. You should then get a message confirming you're connected to BIS.

Ok waiting for message. But it says something about connecting to the wireless network!! Isn't that wat we DON'T want?

Now I've more problems. Even while connected to wifi and got the bb logo its tellin me bid isn't connected. Why

Don't. Know if it matterts but data services are off. Ny sp told me if I turn it on I risk being charged

You NEED data services ON. That's how your phone connects to BIS.

Ok turned wifi off with data services on and got d bb logo!! Thanks phil ur a star. Just answer. Is their any prompts or precautions I can add to prevent me going on internet without wifi cz I'm not covered for that!!

Depends on your plan.
If you haven't got inclusive data, then it will cost you. I get 1GB data/month included so it doesn't cost me anything.
If you haven't got data included... use wifi

As BBM is included in your plan, you won't get charged for that either on or off wifi. You will get charged for internet data though, so just make sure you only use that when you're on wifi.

Can't think of any you can set up to stop you using it. Just remember to only use it when you're connected to wifi.

When I close internet using end call button and disable wifi will I be charged untill I connect back?

Open the browser, press the menu button and select Options. Scroll down to Prompt Before and tick the box for Closing Browser on Escape. Back out and save

*** You need to close the browser with the "Escape" button - NOT the end call button. The "end call" button just minimizes the browser, and you will still incur some data usage. If ever in doubt, close a program by going to Menu, then looking for "Exit". If there is no exit, choose close. (It can vary, especially with 3rd party apps.
