    Default 7.1 via Virgin Mobile

I'm pissed it hasn't been made available yet. I keep quoting tweets about other BB's getting 7.1 and not the 9790, I've been adding Virgin twitter in the tweet.. I suggest all Virgin Mobile Canada users do the same. Cheap curves got while we wait. I don't want the hassle of using other carriers 7.1

It is no hassle... enjoy your pointless wait.

My complaint is that other Canadian carriers have made it available and Virgin hasn't. Why should someone who isn't tech savy, have to wait while its available.

Your energy would be better directed toward learning how to update the OS yourself. It's not that difficult if you have a Windows PC and are able to follow instructions, although complaining is much easier, I know.

I'm with Rogers Wireless...they JUST released the OS 7.1 update for the 9790...but who cares, the carrier Telkomsel (i dont even know who they are) released OS 7.1.0.523 a while ago and i upgraded to that right away.

Its actually more of a hassle to wait for your carrier if they aren't releasing it. Just update bro I find it pretty fun

Just was prompted to install the 7.1 update on my Virgin Mobile 9790 this morning...finally!

Make sure to go to Options > Device > Software Updates to find it.

I started the update over the air/wireless (big mistake). When the phone read "backing up my data" during the process, it stopped at 17% and wont move. My battery over heated and drained and now every time I restart my BB it starts the backing up data process and stops at 17%...

Anyway I can use a shortcut to make my BB usable again.

    Right now its unusable.

I'm such an for not using the desktop to begin with.

Was finally able to update using the desktop. That truly sucked balls for awhile. I've now learned a lesson and I know to use the BB desktop once and awhile. Also glad I did a back up prior to starting the update.

Now its not recognizing BIS, or BES and not giving me the option for BIS. This mess all started when I tried the OTA OS upgrade.

fixed all of my issues by downgrading to 7.0 then re-installing 7.1 using desktop. I honestly think my issues began with the OTA update attempt which stalled and then created all the issues I encountered.
