yellow star on bb 9780

i have this yellow star on my blackberry notification bar what can it be? i havent downloaded any apps recently help. here's a screenshot

I also have that same star its for Metrix Free game it just showed up the other day it seems it for quick launch.

My GF's 9780 had the same icon... Basically if you go into "Messages" you'll see sort of an update for a game from that compagnie. Basically as soon as you delete it, it's gone. If after the deletion of that "fake upgrade" it's still there, simply reboot your BB.

yes it was for matrix free game app will be in your envelope for messages you should be able to delete..i just did and its gone now.

I downloaded a free ringtone from crackerberry, is that why the yellow star icon appeared?? How do I get rid of it???

Ohh those ringtone makers at crackerberry...always up to no good

No, it's most likely not from a ringtone. It's from an app notification, or an inbox notification from an app. Delete the notification or uninstall the app and it'll be gone.

I had a similar icon from App World, for an app that I didn't have before, so it could be that kind of alert.

It is weird. I mean , if there is an icon, it is a kind of shortcut which intentionally shall bring you to the related application. So..if nothing happens I guess the RIM has to do something to such "crap" devise. Mine is BB 9780 as well and when I see such "creepy bugs" it makes me mad.
