Work on wifi only?
Hey All,
I was wondering, how to force my BB to work on WiFi only when I'm home?
I know that the phone switches automatically to wifi when I'm around a hotspot, but is there a way to do it manually?
I tried going into 'mobile network options' and turning off data services but the phone cannot access the web even with wifi connected, and the little BB logo disappears from the top right corner. Is that normal?
Thank you all.

There is no way to manually force your phone to use wifi. If your phone has an active wifi connection, then that will always take precedence over your network connection.
You shouldn't switch off data services, as that is used for both wifi and the network connections. You can switch off your mobile network if you want to make doubly sure that only wifi is being used, but the data services must remain on.

Hi,
This may sound like a simple question, but I can't seem to work it out.
My son has just rec'd a Blackberry Bold 9780 - He is on a Pay as You Go SIM - I have set up Wi-Fi on our home network, so he can take advantage of the internet at home, however I want to disable internet browsing when he is out as the data will be to expensive on his PAYG & he has no need for e-mail.
Can anyone help & let me know if this is possible.
I've looked at the settings on my one, but it won't help as it is a 'work phone' & everything is always 'on'
Not sure if this makes a difference, but we are in the UK
Thanks
AF
