Will 9780 be a good replacement for a 9700 on Bell in canada
Hello, so my wife currently has a 9700 and likes it but it is starting to die, so would a 9780 be a good replacement for her, we are on bell in canada;
She doesn't like the camera on the 9700 but the 9780 is a better camera, and for us HSPA service is much better than CDMA or GSM where we live and of course Bell doesn't offer GMS service.
Any thoughts? What specific 9780 should I get? - 08-27-2012, 08:30 PM #2
I would not sign a 3 year contract for a 1.5-2 year old phone. If you can get it off contract, great.
I don't know what you mean. Aside from frequency bands, the only other common distinctions I'm aware of are color (black/white) and camera/no camera.
You'd want to get a phone with bands 1,2,5,6--bands used by Bell, Telus and Rogers. - 08-28-2012, 11:15 AM

GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 (Quadband) HSDPA 850/1900/2100 WCDMA (UMTS) 800/850/900/1700/1900/2100 - 08-29-2012, 10:31 PM #5
You can use a GSM Blackberry Bold 9780 with carriers such as Bell, Rogers, Telus and Fido.
If you get your Blackberry unlocked for SIM free you can try the |SIM cards of the carriers and find out which works best for you. - 08-31-2012, 02:50 AM #6
