Why no info on the 9780?

I really want this phone and I check here everyday and see NO new info on it. I actually thought during the BlackBerry Developer's Con they would give it an official release or something??? Anyone else in the same boat as I am

yea its strange. the more I think about what BlackBerry is up to though it seems like a quiet update almost suits them better. It doesn't add any features that non forum geeks like us will care about and after touting the ill fated torch as the greatest thing ever I feel like its in their best interest to quietly slide this thing in as a refresh to the 9700s and instead push OS6 as the focus.

Yeah well do they not read the reviews they got on the torch? The 9700 received excellent reviews and people are still preferring it over the torch. Isn't the bold series their top of the line?

I am afraid it is because it is not near release yet. There are even few pre-release units to sell.

I just got an email from the guy who sold me mine and he wants to know if I will sell it back to him!

I actually read that release was sometime in October or November. Perhaps we'll hear more info later this month.

I can't even see it being released this year... it's still yet to be officially announced by RIM

I was just under the impression it was due out this October or November. Oh well. I'll probably wait until late November to see what happens.

I would never want a touch screen phone especially a blackberry. :P

I see why you guys are worried just like am that it will not be released soon. However, didn't somebody post in the forum showing that accessories for the phone are on t-mobile's list for november?

Hopefully when the BOLD 9780 is released it will run OS6 very smoothly. I'd hate to buy the device and find it buggy. It would be nice just to have some news on it though.

Then why does the Torch according to a lot of people run OS6 like crap? Touch screen?

Yup that's the article. I'm just hoping that mobile syrup is right about the october 21st release with telus. I sold my 9630 yesterday and now i'm back using this slow out dated 8130

I'm hoping that the rumors are correct because I don't like the torch and i'd hate to give in and get the 9700 and then 9780 comes out a month or less later.

Exactly. At first I wanted the Torch but after reading review after review I decided to pass. I am sure its a great phone but the main reason I dont' want it is because of the form factor. I was gonna get the 9700 then learned of the 9780 and said I can wait lol. Its just the wait is killing me. With my luck though I would get the 9700 and the next day the 9780 would be available.
