my text msg icon stopped working recently, it freezes when i select that icon, i press the end call button and then i can use every other feature on the phone. to get around this i attempted to make one of the outside buttons open the text msg screen but that doesnt work either. those buttons do work for everything else.

any help would be much appreciated.

I would also suggest rebooting your phone/doing a battery pull. Did you just get your phone; and if so, do you still have your receipt and are you within your warranty?

There is nothing wrong with going back to your carrier and asking them about this problem. It could be nothing, though - try a battery pull or send a tweet to @BlackBerryhelp on Twitter. I've used this idea after someone else on CrackBerry suggested it to me; and they are usually quite prompt in getting back to you. Let us know what happens, and good luck!
