Default OS6 updates...

May have been asked before...

How often will OS6 updates be with OS7 now the focus?

Also, do all phones suffer the bb OS6 mem leak? Iphone and androids- do they have the same issue? Is it just because its easy to see on OS6 that we are aware of it?

is RIM killing OS6? is OS6 done like OS5?

Every computer suffers from cache buildup. To what degree would depend on what apps are used, and how the computer is used on the whole. Garbage collection could certainly be better on OS6, but with a battery pull once a day when convenient (like before bed or bath), you shouldn't have an issue abusing the heck out of your BlackBerry all day.

The whole OS6/OS7 thing is a bit of a kick in the teeth for me. Because OS7 was going to be called OS6.1, but later changed to OS7 due to marketing reasons.

Now the main difference on release wasn't that much, however in the span of time this whole thing got out of hand where OS6 is far behind OS7.

Like the fact you can change the useless ''Favourites, Downloads, Media'' in OS7, that isn't a big feature at all! And I would really like to see it on OS6, however RIM says no.

This thing is even MORE a kick in the teeth for those running the most recent OS6 devices (Like a 9780, or something like a 9800 (not sure bout that but idunno im a boldie)) where the hardware CLEARLY can run OS7, however RIM doesn't release it. Heck.. some hardware in the latest OS6 devices are BETTER than the entry level OS7 devices.

I still enjoy my 9780.. but in the back of my head.. I'm pissed.

I don't find my OS6 .666 Bold 9780 is leaking. I can leave it for weeks without pulling the battery. Never see the need. The only App I use is BeBuzz and I even remove some of the default things like Facebook and Twatter. Phone behaves fine for me.

Check your apps. Maybe your leak is with one of those?

No, it was dropped as unfeasible. OS7's sfi is vastly larger from my recollection.

So you do recognize there's a big difference between 6 and 7?

There are custom themes for that

9780 - 624Mhx processor, 9370 - 800Mhz processor

You should enjoy your 9780. It's one heck of a phone, but hardly compares to today's Curve, let alone the 1.2Ghz processor and half again volume of RAM in today's Bold. Technology moves forward. No sense getting upset about it.
