NE 1 a past 9700 that used a 9800 and now back to 9780??
so im tired of the touch screen that i barley use....
i went from a 9000 9700 9800 and now thinking of getting a 9780....
a lot ppl in the 9800 thread have said dont go back due to the larger screen and that the os6.0 is made for touch screen but i really miss the lighter and smaller phone in my hand....this thing is 2 bulky...i know the screen size is a huge thing for some but how is 6.0 on a non touch and why should i come back to 97xx???
also how is the battery life? - 02-23-2011, 01:30 PM #2
Battery life is way better mna. you get a 1500 mAH battery as stock.
Keyboard is way way better. Trackpad is smoother due to the fact that is is not bulged out like in the Torch, believe it or not, it makes a difference. With the Torch trackpad, if my finger was even a bit damp, the motion wouldn't be so smooth, it would stick at times while moving. With the Bold and Curve 8520 trackpad, which is flat, the motion is much smoother and no matter how damp your finger is, it will always work. Talking from an experience of owning an 8520, 2 9700s a Torch, and now a 9780
The screen is not as pleasant as the Torch, but I got used to it, it is crisp and the images look very vivid. the size is perfect, you can put it in your pocket easily and still have a fully cessible keyboard at anytime.
People say OS 6 was made for Touch screens, I think that is just plain biased, I can do anything that Torch can on my Bold and FASTER! This device with the latest 461 leak is faster than ANY OS on the Torch.
The Torch is a great device, dont get me wrong, but touch screen is not my thing. - 02-23-2011, 03:08 PM #3BigBadWulf - "Word of advice - Stick to the seasoned veterans here. NOPE. the writing is on the wall for Newer devices for 2011.
there's actually a road map for the new blackberrys.
i dont want you using your upgrade eligibility/ buying full retail price now and then having buyer's remorse in 3 months.
but don't get me wrong, the 9780 is a very good phone.
but you knew that already.

Ive had my 9800 torch since nov of last yr when it was released...i ended up selling my 9700 Bold that i was using previously and i have to say as much as i love the Torch, i do miss my 9700 alot....so much so that one of my lines have just recently come up for renewal so have picked up a brand new white 9780 which i should get by Monday.
Looking forward to getting back to what i was used to...although ill be getting used to the non touch screen lol. But for me the Torch was a bit too buggy and ive had 4 of them now with the same crappy build issues ie wiggly slider, creaking battery door and the godawful keyboard.
The 9780 will be my fill in device till the Bold touch comes out...one device that ive been waiting for a very long time....lets hope RIM gets it right with the battery life and super fast cpu within the device. - 02-25-2011, 07:16 PM
