Default My Bold has a thin black line on my screen! help!

Hi.. I have a blackberry bold 9780.. I recently just purchase d this phone.. Maybe a month old. I like this phone so far but one morning I woke up and there's a short thin black line on my screen that I can't get rid of. I tried everything I changed my theme and I even turned off my phone and took off the battery and my sim card. But that mysterious thin short black line is still on my screen. Does this ever happen to you!? If yes! How can I get rid of this! Thanks!

Is it actually on the LCD part of the screen or on the outside? If its on the LCD part, my friend had a black patch on the bottom left and it eventually went away after a few weeks, so just wait before you go replacing it.

Oh I see.. Its actually inside.. I'm almost sure that its not the exterior.

Thanks for all the help.. I'm just gonna wait till it goes away.. ::crosses fingers::

Yes, I think you have a LCD problem. LCD spread can run like water(I just learned this in my Chem class last week... we made LCDs I am sorry... you need to replace the LCD screen for sure.

Just a FYI... There is no outside/inside. The screen on the 9780 is the LCD, it is not like on the 83xx/85xx where you have a lens over it.

Scratch it, break it, crack it, and you're in for trouble.

I am sure that it has some kind of protective sleeve.. Why would they make a phone that doesn't have a protection.

I meant like is it a scratch on the outside or something related with the screen itself. Hope that makes sense.

I know what you guys mean.

And trust mewhen I say it, this phone is not like the 83xx/85xx curves. It is like the 8900/9700 phones. There is nothing protecting the screen.

    Don't believe me? Crack it...

R2, the phone (usually) comes with a belt holster or pochet sleeve, indeed. But that's not really what they were talking about in previous posts.

If it only a month old, why not get it replaced under warranty!

This is a physical defect in your device and will not just go away.

I had to do a warranty replace of my 9000 for the same reason. Luckily it occurred about 2 months before the warranty ran out.

Sounds like a flaw in the LCD take it beck to whoever you bought it from and get a warranty replacement.

You shouldn't have to. It seems to be a defect in the hardware of the phone. If its not a scratch or a crack that could be something you did, then they should replace it under warranty.

Was the device dropped or carried in a tight pocket? If so, the damage to the LCD would be physical damage, covered by insurance and subject to a deductible.

If there was no physical damage, then it should be covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

Get it replaced. Take it to a T-mo company owned store. I'm 90% sure that what you have is a flawed LCD. It happens.
