Welcome to the forums.
Here are a few ideas:
- battery pull: could be the contacts are loose so this would clear that possibility;
- let it charge: sometimes the device does not enough power to boot. sometimes that happens out of the blue. plug it in and leave it for an hour or two and the try to turn it on (red key 1st, battery pull if it does not work).
If these still don't work, you might have a fried device. If you still can take it to the store, do so. - 08-17-2011, 10:14 AM #4
@ sonicsue
Its a shame what happened to you. Reminds me of my case.
Check this out : My Bold-3 9780 just Died !!
I suggest that you throw the device at the face of the fellas you got it from, clearly telling them you want a brand-new one !
This is what I did. Hope it works out for you too !
Good Luck ...

After giving it a good charge, could be worth connecting it to a PC to see if that can talk to it.

Clean the battery contacts. Give them a good rub to polish them. Both on the battery and on the phone. You could have dirt building up here and giving a dodgy connection.
Or just a dead battery. When buying a replacement be careful to avoid the many fakes out there. They are cheap for a reason.
