Default How to play mp4 videos?

    Hello!
I'va just downloaded some mp4 videos from the web but my BB Bold 9780 is not playing them, just the sound. Their size is 1289/720 and the codec 1 H.264/ AVC. Is it possible to play them? if not, how can I convert them to something playable?
    Cheers!

AFAIK they will not play like that, if you put them into the desktop manager, it should convert them correctly

Thank you so much. The only problem is that I'm using only Linux and it seems that there is no Linux version of the desktop manager.

Isn't it for Android? I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 64 bits and a BB Bold 9780.

Wow, that's my second time today that I do post the same answer

Try to convert the Video with Handbrake (HandBrake).

    1) Download Handbrake
    2) Open the Video
    3) Select "Classic" in the Preset Column (or Legacy --> Classic)
    4) Hit Start

If this does not help do Step 1-3 again plus

    4) Check "Keep Aspect Ratio" in the Picture tab
    5) Set the width to 480 pixels, but don't change the height
    6) Go to the Video Tab and set the Framrate to 23,976
    7) Adjust the Average Bitrate to 750
    8) On the Audio Tab set Mixdown to Stereo
    9) Hit Start

Handbrake will run perfectly under Linux - at least with Ubuntu 9, 10 and 11. But there are packages available for other Distributions as well + the Source
