I can verify that reloading the OS does nothing to fix this problem. It's possible, I suppose that there could be a software change that might compensate for a hardware problem, but we haven't seen it yet. 6.0.0.359 is the latest, and now official, version of OS 6 for T-Mobile, and it doesn't fix the problem.

No problem with mine.

I have had my T-Mobile 9780 since Nov 17th and just started having issues about a week or so ago. It has been getting worse too. I changed the 'Key Rate' today to 'Slow', we'll see how that works over the next few days.
If not, I will call t-mobile for an exchange. I too have Ghost Armor; hopefully they'll replace it for free on the new phone, idk.

Mexico 1. No keyboard issues, though there is a minor build issue with the bezel - something I can probably fix by getting another one replacing it myself sometime in the future.

I've had mine since Dec 13. The issue is there, but infrequent. I am going to TELUS to see if I can get something done. Mexico 4 BTW.

definite double inputs!
i bought mine the first week in December. it was replaced the second week in December for the double key input. The new one has been fine for 3+ weeks, but today it's driving me crazy with the double inputs. Especially adding a period and capitalizing after a perceived double space bar hit. very annoying! also Telus - not sure where manufactured.

I did NOT have the problem in the beginning. Had the phone since mid November, but the problem started creeping up in the last 2 weeks.
I'm in the minority that thinks it is a software problem. As I mentioned in another forum, I have seen this on the first gen Bold and also the 9700.
One thing to mention, I only see the double inputs when using programs such as Universal Search, memo pad, texting.. I have not seen this issue when I use the browser... Not sure if that's anything significant.
Also, one fix in another thread seems to be working for me. I changed my Key Rate from "normal" to "medium fast." - 01-10-2011, 11:00 AM #47
I called in to T-Mobile and officially opened a ticket for the double input issue. I advise others to do the same. I even directed the guy to crackberry forums to indicate how many people were experiencing this problem. Maybe they will actually do something if we can get enough people to call in the problem.

Well I finally bit the bullet and called T-Mobile and ordered a replacement phone. Had to pay $9.99 for the shipping but I can live with that. I'll cross my fingers that I get a good phone that doesn't experience (or develop) this issue.
Ubizmo did you get your 2nd replacement unit yet? - 01-10-2011, 03:01 PM #49
That's awful. Are you going to try for a third? I exchanged my first unit after 3 weeks, but the replacement unit has the problem too, only worse! Now that I'm past 30 days since my original purchase, Telus says I have to go through my 1 year warranty and exchange it for a refurbished unit (that may also have the problem for all I know!). I can't believe I've got a top of the line BB but when I type a text it. Looks liiike. Thiss.
